Scrapbook Ideas

(Here's some more...)

Looking for some scrapbook ideas?

Here's some more helpful information from www.collectingpapermemories.com!

Hopefully, this page will help you with your scrapbook layout and scrapbook design ideas!

Use your imagination!

Don't copy others!

Make your scrapbook...yours!

Create your very own..unique scrapbook pages!

Quite frankly, we're spreading our scrapbook ideas around on our website a little bit. We didn't want you to feel obligated to read one "mile-long" page. So take your time, look around at the following pages. There is a ton of information!

  • Clear Sleeves - Leave a page or two blank. Clear pages will allow you to display any item that needs to be displayed on both sides.

You will quickly find that there are many items that fall into this category: money, phamphets, ticket stubs, programs, etc. Don't overdue it though. You don't want a full scrapbook album of "see-through" pages.

  • Childrens Scrapbook page

  • Children's Scrapbooks - Most parents will make a scrapbook for their child. Haven't yet? Or perhaps, like many, you have a box full of paper treasures from your child, waiting for you...

Now's the time! Sort through that box and start selecting items for your child's book. Items, such as: art work, grade cards, awards, programs, handmade cards, and (let's say it again) more art work.

You may want to create a separate scrapbook for the art work alone! Or perhaps, by age: baby, infant, toddler years, school years, etc. It's all up to you! The possibilities are endless.

Scrapbook graphics, albums, and designs are plentiful, and easy to find at any scrapbook store. Plus, when you visit, you are sure to come up with some new scrapbook ideas of your own!

  • Background Paper, Stickers, Design Lines - Highlight a picture with some colored background paper. Or "frame it" with some design lines. Then, spice up that scrapbooking page with some stickers.

Look over these four scrapbook pages. There are special cuts, design lines, background paper, stickers, and more...

All of these scrapbooking supplies can greatly enhance the look and feel of your book. Once again, they can be easily purchased at any scrapbooking or craft supply store. (or online)

The point is, make your scrapbook one that they will want to keep and cherish forever. For a small amount of money and time; this can be easily accomplished!

  • Heirloom Books - Heirloom quality scrapbooks may require a little more effort and thought. You may want to purchase a higher quality album and spend a little more time and money on your scrapbooking supplies and graphics.

Keep in mind that you are creating a family keepsake that could possibly survive for generations to come.

Make sure to thoroughly document your heirloom scrapbook. Include specfic photographs that are topic related. Keep them simple and uncluttered. Include relative documents that will help you tell your story.

Important! Remember, to use acid-free materials and corner mounts when handling these irreplacable documents. Or, use scanned images and preserve the originals.

  • Scrapbook Storage - Organize your supplies. If you are a new "scrapper", it may appear as though the amount of your supplies are multiplying overnight! Take care of that potential problem now!

    Folder for scrapbook paper storage

Buy a small storage cabinet, (plastic is fine!). Also, a small plastic tool box will come in handy for your smaller items. Both can be purchased for a small sum. You will be glad you did!

This neat little scrapbook storage folder can hold hundreds of scrapbook background papers and stickers! It is a good idea to keep all of those "extra" papers in one handy spot.

  • Label/Edit - Editing and documenting your scrapbooks is largely a personal decision.

If you choose to do so, there are many options. Visit a scrapbook or office supply store. Or, search for one at Amazon.com, like this one!

This basic labeler is a great addition to your scrapbooking supply box. You will probably use it more than you can imagine!

Most labeler machines use a basic USB cable and hook directly into your computer. From there, options vary based on your machine.

Create your own unique label , send it to the machine, cut it, and apply...that's it!

Labeling and documenting your scrapbook will give it a professional look and help you...tell your story!

We hope that we have provided you with some scrapbook ideas that you can use. Remember, the canvas is blank when you start. But, it may just turn into a piece of art...when your finished!

Looking for something else?

Use this search box and you're on your way!

Random Notes...

Get prepared before you start creating your scrapbook!

  • Review your concept
  • Gather your supplies
  • Prepare a proper workspace
  • Go over your scrapbook design
  • Experiment with several scrapbook layouts
  • Take your time
  • Have fun

Our Advice?

We can't stress this enough; prepare a well organized workspace! You are likely to get interrupted several times before you finish. Allow yourself the luxury of being able to get up and walk away...when you need to!

Oh! And don't forget to buy a nice size waste basket! You may be surprised at how quickly that small one fills up! (Caution: Be careful not to throw away any scrapbook ideas!)
