Just LOOK! ...at this video! Then check out our page on Military Collectibles. And you know...we love...
(We found this ad, for Colgate Toothpaste, in a 1923 Normal Instructor and Primary Plans issue, at an antique shop for just a few dollars.) Obviously, there are too many topics and companies to include on this little old website. However, we decided that we had to add (no pun intended!) Vintage Ads, to our Nav Bar Selection on the left. So, we picked a few of our favorite topics to include: Campbells Soup, Coca Cola , various cigarette ads, automobile ads, alcohol ads, 78 records, and one of our "all-time" favorites, RCA and their famous Nipper Dog ! We will also through in various ads periodically that remind us of "days gone by", such as this one. This 1926 ad for congoleum from Spiegel, May, Stern, and Co. Remind you of Great Grandma's house? It does for us! What a deal. A (9x12) piece + two extra congoleum mats for only $9.65. Just send $1.00, pinned to the coupon, and it's all yours. Wow! All of the photos that we use come from our very own personal collection of randomly purchased old magazines...through the years. Got any old magazines like that stuffed away in a box somewhere? No? Perhaps, one of your grandparents does. Or a neighbor!
Why not take a moment of your time and go find them? It's also a good time to sort through some of those other special paper memories that are neatly "tucked away" somewhere in your home. Not sure what we're talking about? Take a look around our website and you will soon see... Here's a great example of vintage advertising combined with a celebrity endorsement combined with promoting "That's A Good Girl". Here's Miss Elsie Randolph promoting Pond's Vanishing & Cold Creams in this vintage 1928 ad taken from Punch,(or the London Charavari)magazine. And please...don't just put them back in a box, either! Why not take some of your favorite ads and create a special memory? Why not create a scrapbook ? Or, view them neatly in a digital frame, and preserve them digitally? Displaying your paper keepsakes can be fun and rewarding. (and a great topic of conversation at dinner parties) Wow! How about that 1942 Pontiac? If only...
Need some ideas? That's what we are here for. We love this kind of stuff! Browse through our menu bar (top left) and discover for yourselves, what we are talking about. Let's face it! We all have that box full of old magazines or newspapers sitting around somewhere. Perhaps, like us, you collect vintage post cards! Are they in that same box? How long has it been since you looked at them?
By the way, what exactly is in your box, anyway?
C'mon, open the box! We challenge you to go and find that box...your box! And when you find it, we'll be right
here to help you sort it all out. (Add us to your Favorites!)
Pull that stuff out of the box and spread it across the kitchen table. Or, just dump it all on the living room floor. We don't care! We just want to help give you a little nudge... Look at some of our stuff here on our living room floor! (Believe us, this is just the tip of the iceberg!) We have vintage maps, memo books, school books, letters, postcards, newspapers, scrapbooks, photos, and much, much more! And you know what? We're guessing that you do to! We have fun looking through our box of old paper memorabilia. (Actually, we have many boxes...scattered throughout our house!)
See! We just opened ours. And YES, we really did find this box in the basement at Grandpa's house! It was covered with dust & dirt, stained badly, and had that lovely "musty" old basement smell. Just take a look at what we found! It was full of very cool vintage documents, letters, postcards, and books. Our job now, has just begun! It's time to roll up the sleeves and dig into this box. We hope to preserve many of these vintage paper treasures! Not sure what you have in your box? Need some examples to compare your stuff...with some of our stuff! Check out this page for a ton of paper examples.
We don't sell our collectibles! Nor, do we appraise them. We are just novice collectors who enjoy our collecting old paper memories! However, along the way, we have learned a great deal! Quite simply, we would like to pass along some of our knowledge (and mistakes) on to you! Plus, we'll include some great websites for you to check out! It is our sincere hope and desire that some of our insight, can be transferred into a positive benefit to you! So, that's why we decided to put this
website together. We would like to help you enjoy your box and your memories! We can help you in many ways...
So, give us a try! Look around! Keep those memories alive! They are...your precious memories! Oh, one more thing! We're not done collecting yet! So, check back from time to time and visit us! We have a lot more boxes to fill! C'mon, open the box already, will ya?
