The Chester a heavy cruiser arived in Pearl, with the rest of the fleet on the 8th of December,1941.I had an Uncle that was at the sub. base on December 7,1941. This newspaper along with papers showing V-E and V-J day was in a collection of papers and articles he kept during the war. I don't know if it is worth anything.I would like to know the value if any.

Honolulu Star-Bulletin 1st. Extra December 7th. 1941
Unfortunately this paper is a reprint. Its worth is about 5 to 10 dollars. The original first extra is valued between two and three thousand dollars.

Not the original by: Anonymous
Based on the picture this is a reprint of the orginal. The orginal paper has an ink smudge between the "A" and "R" in the word "WAR" on the front page. This is a very easy way to spot a reprint making the value much less. Maybe ten dollars at the most with the original going for thousands of dollars.

Nice WW II Paper...needs a value! by: collectingpapermemories
Many people collect "War Papers", usually far, far, away from the actual action and or event.
But your paper, is a little more unique. In your case, that headline is not just a local headline. It is not even a State or National headline/story.
That paper and it's headline, describes a "World Changing Event!"
Think about it! No matter where you lived in the world, (during that time)the world had just changed...regardless of your alliances.
Now, as far as it's value is concerned, well, we'll leave that to the experts!
So...anyone? Please feel free to comment here and leave us your two cents worth.
In any case, make sure to use an acid-free backer board, corner mounts, etc. Protect it from direct sunlight. Store this paper in a cool dry environment. This will help keep that paper in decent shape for a while to come.
